Program Objective
Similar to other startup initiatives, the objective of the Youth Startup Academy is to identify early-stage startups with excellent business items and innovative technologies. It aims to foster successful enterprises by providing consistent, end-to-end support through a packaged program format. As reflected in its name, the program specifically encourages and supports entrepreneurship among young business owners.
Recruitment Classification, Scale, and Eligibility
Basic Eligibility: Founders of startup companies established within the last 3 years, aged 39 or younger.
Please note that prospective founders who have not yet established a business are ineligible. There is also an age limit, and the academy is specifically tailored for those in the early phases of running a newly incorporated business.
Recruitment Classification & Scale: A total of 915 matriculants are selected annually across different regions. The recruitment is divided into Private-Sector-Led and Specialized tracks.
The Private-Sector-Led track involves partner Accelerators (ACs) such as CNT Tech, Bluepoint Partners, Y&Archer, and Zephyrus Lab. A total of 150 participants are selected for this track through regional evaluations.
The Specialized track recruits a total of 750 participants through regional selections managed by 14 individual Youth Startup Academy locations.

Support Details and Duration
Support Duration: Up to 1 year
Government Funding: Up to 100 million KRW
Eligible Expenses: Technology development, prototyping costs, activities for technological research, intellectual property acquisition, marketing expenses, etc.
Startup Infrastructure: Provision of workspace needed for commercialization (office and incubation space) and access to product development equipment.
Education & Mentoring: Structured educational programs, business coaching, and step-by-step progress tracking.
Commercialization Support: Business model (BM) optimization, customer acquisition, and development of overseas sales channels.
Investment Support: Participation in Demodays and connection with seed investment opportunities.

Evaluation Process
Stage 1: Document evaluation based on the business plan and supporting evidence.
Stage 2: Presentation evaluation highlighting the founder's execution plan and business model.
Stage 3: Interview evaluation assessing entrepreneurship and commercialization capability.
Preferred Criteria / Extra Points (for document screening)
Female founders - 0.5 points
Registered patents - 0.5 points
Awards in government-hosted business competitions (within 2 years, per award) - 0.5 points
